| Pietradolce | Contrada Santo Spirito Etna Rosso DOC | 2019 | Vinous | 30/05/2025 | 92 | ||||||
Verbiage“The 2019 Etna Rosso Santo Spirito is perfumed and delicate in the glass. Violets mix with slate and blackberries to form the bouquet. This displays soft, pillowy textures and cool-toned acidity with an edginess brought on by a tart raspberry concentration. Wild berries mix with edgy tannins as it finishes long with a zesty tension and sensation of liquid stone. Santo Spirito is the only wine from Pietradolce that matures in a combination of amphora and tonneaux, which lends a plush quality.” -Eric Guido

| Fantini | Opi Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva Colline Teramane | 2016 | Vinous | 08/05/2025 | 92 | ||||||
Verbiage“The 2016 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane Opi is incredibly dark and brooding, with shavings of dark chocolate and eucalyptus working to lift its dried black cherry fruit aromas as a hint of tobacco slowly emerges. It washes across the palate with silken textural waves of polished red berry tones, underscored by tactile minerals and fine-grained tannins that slowly saturate toward the close. Tannic and long, the 2016 finishes with a staining of primary concentration and mentholated freshness. The 2016 shows unexpected energy for a barrique-aged Montepulciano.” -Eric Guido |
