A blend of 60% Corvina, 30% Rondinella and 10% Molinara, the 2018 Amarone from Dal Cero offers alluring aromas of dark exotic spice, fruitcake, plum and camphor. Full-bodied but also boasting freshness and an almost weightless quality, the palate features prune, Morello cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and coconut framed in velvety tannins that kick up at the end leave a firm finish. The 2021 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from Dal Cero opens with aromas of fruitcake, raspberry jam and potpourri of spice. Full-bodied and polished, the savory palate offers prune, ripe Morello cherry, licorice and ground clove accompanied by taut, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced.
